#39 | Upper Whitemud

The Upper Whitemud Watershed has an area of about 507 square miles. The watershed originates on the south edge of the Riding Mountain northwest of Neepawa at an elevation of about 2350 feet and flows south east to the Woodside. The total drop is about 1500 feet over about 70 miles. The watershed includes Mountain Road, Franklin, Neepawa, Arden, Eden, Helston and other towns.

Other significant waterways in the watershed include Stony Creek, Spring Creek, Helston Drain, Bearcat Creek, Dead Lake Drain, Millar Creek, Law Creek and Eden Creek.

This subdistrict includes portions of the municipalities of Westlake-Gladstone, North Norfolk, Glenella-Lansdowne, North Cypress-Langford, Rosedale, Minto-Odanah and Clanwilliam.

The subdistrict’s annual maintenance budget is over $100,000.
